We were married here a few weeks ago, and cannot recommend it highly enough! An absolute dream venue, with amazing views and the cathedral is the most stunning place to get married I may be slightly biased! The idea is that u get the lift only takes 6 people at a time to the top and wander your way around and down. The lift takes about 3 minutes to go up and down again so I could see the queue being quite slow, but it only took up about 15 minutes in August. There is a printed guide sheet that explains about 25 I think points of interest, which we found very interesting. It took us a couple of hours to explore. The degree views are amazing.!! Went to see this "Ischia-mustsee" on a hot day. Although there is an elevator that takes you half way up, there is still plenty of walking to do. It is nice that they have couple of bars, where you can have refreshments.
The Aragonese Castle of Ischia: Large and small events in a special venue
Wedding photographer Italy : Marco Miglianti for Migliantistudio. Eric and Jessie opted for a wonderful setting for their wedding: Ischia. This American couple was so pleased with the Neapolitan scenery, that they chose the Aragonese Castle as the location for their most beautiful day. In this magical place, they surrended to the joy of that lovely moment, which they shared with their parents and friends. After the sunset, the bride changed her dress and the couple reached the wedding reception, by boat: the banquet was outside the restaurant, near the harbour. The couple will never forget their splendid italian wedding.

The Aragonese Castle of Ischia is a special place worth exploring at length. It is also a unique venue ideal for events both large and small. At the Aragonese Castle, wedding ceremonies - both civil and symbolic - are celebrated near the ruins of the Cathedral of the Assumption Cattedrale dell'Assunta , the very same church in which Vittoria Colonna and Ferrante D'Avalos were wed during the Renaissance! Our staff of professional wedding planners will take care of the details by organizing the party and decorating the cathedral with flowers, seats, and a table for the master of ceremonies; it will also provide music, if desired, along with any other service you would like.
That was a very important cultural moment of the island, the poetess in that period was surrounded by the best artists and literates of that period and when you get inside can still breath the epoch and the art of Michelangelo Buonarroti, Ludovico Ariosto, Iacopo Sannazzaro and many others. So I find it very romantic to celebrate a wedding. Toast after the wedding of course. Probably built on the remains of a garrison of the 5 th century A. Presently it is private property.
